Reflexology Of The Foot

What is Reflexology?

Your feet and hands contain many reflexes that reflect different parts of your body. Stimulation of these points on your feet, for example, can affect the corresponding organ or body part. Proper stimulation on a regular basis can help to put the body into a healing, restive state during the treatment and can assist in maintaining your body’s equilibrium.

What Happens During a Foot Reflexology Treatment?

Generally, a foot reflexology treatment takes an hour. You remove your shoes and socks and relax in a zero-gravity chair. Starting with the toes, your feet are treated to a special thumb-walking movement that will cover the entire foot, starting with the right and finishing with the left. Occasionally, I will press. This is nothing to worry about. These pressure points correspond to points in your body and aid in the stimulation.

During the treatment you may feel talkative. Just let it happen. It’s part of the treatment’s effect on your body and can aid in your mental balance. You may feel sleepy. Again, just relax and let it happen. As you rest, your body will go into an alpha state of relaxation that allows healing and balancing. You will awake feeling very refreshed.

The treatment ends with a relaxing foot massage.
